Role & responsibilities Lead the development of seasonal sportswear collections in coordination with design and sourcing teams. Drive the product sampling process, ensuring adherence to design, fit, and technical requirements. Manage costing, pricing, and negotiations with vendors and manufacturers to meet margin goals. Track production timelines to ensure on-time delivery of orders; proactively resolve any delays or quality concerns. Oversee vendor relationships, ensuring compliance with brand standards and ethical sourcing practices. Conduct market research and competitor analysis to suggest new product ideas and improvements. Ensure all performance testing and quality protocols are followed for sportswear items. Maintain accurate records of sampling, production, and order status using merchandising tools and systems. Guide and support junior merchandisers and cross-functional teams. Preferred candidate profile Order Management: Handle end-to-end order processing from sampling, costing, order confirmation, and bulk production to shipment. Costing & Negotiation: Prepare detailed cost sheets, negotiate prices with suppliers and buyers, and ensure profitability targets are met. Production Coordination: Monitor production schedules and ensure timely delivery while maintaining product quality. Vendor & Supplier Management: Source and manage fabric, trims, and accessories suppliers. Build and maintain strong supplier relationships. Quality Assurance: Work closely with QA teams to ensure products meet required standards and compliance regulations. Trend & Market Analysis: Stay updated with global sportswear trends, innovations in fabric and fit, and market dynamics. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and updates for each account, ensuring all stages of merchandising are tracked.
