Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, maintain, and optimize our Oracle database systems on Linux servers. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Oracle database architecture, strong Linux administration skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and performance tuning. Key Responsibilities Database Management: Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle database software and related products. Performance Tuning: Monitor and optimize the performance of the database, ensuring high levels of data availability and security. Backup and Recovery: Develop, implement, and test database backup and recovery plans. Ensure data integrity and availability. Security Management: Implement and maintain database security (roles, privileges, and user management). Linux Administration: Perform Linux server administration tasks, including system updates, patch management, and troubleshooting. Scripting and Automation: Develop and maintain scripts for automating routine database tasks and processes. Monitoring and Reporting: Set up and manage database monitoring tools. Generate reports on database performance and health. Incident Management: Respond to and resolve database incidents and issues in a timely manner. Documentation: Maintain up-to-date documentation of the database environment, configurations, procedures, and policies. Qualifications - **Education**: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. - **Experience**: Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Oracle DBA, with a focus on Linux environments. - **Technical Skills**: - Proficiency in Oracle database versions (e.g., 11g, 12c, 19c). - Strong knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL. - Experience with Oracle Data Guard, and RMAN. - Solid understanding of Linux operating systems (e.g., Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu). - Familiarity with shell scripting and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Putty). - Knowledge of performance tuning and optimization techniques. - Understanding of network protocols and database connectivity. - **Certifications**: Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) is preferred. - **Soft Skills**: - Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy.
