Job Description

The L3 Security Engineer is a senior technical role responsible for handling complex and escalated issues, as well as contributing to the strategic development and implementation of network solutions. Key responsibilities include: Troubleshooting: Address and resolve escalated issues from the SD/L2 teams, focusing on complex technical problems. Problem Solving: Troubleshoot and fix intricate issues, ensuring minimal disruption to services. Change Management: Review, approve, and implement complex changes within the network environment. Project Support: Provide expert support and review project demands, ensuring alignment with overall network strategy. Design Input: Collaborate with Technical Design Authority (TDA) to provide insights and inputs for network designs. Vendor Liaison: Participate in TAC (Technical Assistance Center) calls and collaborate with suppliers to resolve issues. Customer Support: Work closely with customers to address and resolve issues that involve other suppliers. Training & Development: Train and mentor other team members to ensure they are capable and ready to handle network operations. Stakeholder Engagement: Consult and collaborate with stakeholders, including TDA, Project Managers, and Service Management teams. Transformation Strategy: Assist in developing and implementing transformation strategies for network and technology disciplines in the area of expertise. Community Contribution: Participate in BT-wide professional community activities, including knowledge sharing and best practices both within BT and the external industry. Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify and raise improvement opportunities, and take ownership of small, incremental issues from identification to resolution. Enhanced Diagnostics: Perform advanced diagnostics on standard products for complex issues and for those requiring specific technical knowledge. We are seeking a highly skilled L3 Security professional to provide 24x7 operations support with a specialization in different aspects of security estate. This role demands a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage complex, multi-cloud environments. Qualifications: ITIL Foundation certification is highly desirable. Strong written and verbal English communication skills. Mandatory CCNP/CCIE certification (or equivalent level of knowledge). Minimum professional level certification in Checkpoint Firewall CCSA, (Checkpoint Certified Security Administrator) or CCSE (Checkpoint Certified Security Expert), JNCIS(JUNOS) , CCIE Security, Fortigate , PCNSE, ZIA, ZPA or relevant security certification. Professional Qualification such as B.E./B.Tech/MCA Diploma in a relevant field is Acceptable Experience with hybrid cloud solutions and integrating public cloud into traditional delivery models. Understanding of managing multi-cloud networks. Mandatory. Relevant operational knowledge and experience of risk management. Mandatory. Change management Mandatory. Effective Communication, including verbal, report writing & presentations skills Mandatory. Problem solving Mandatory. Planning & execution Mandatory. Holds appropriate level of Security Clearance Mandatory. Experience in managing and delivery of customer network solutions. Technical Skills & Experience: Mandatory : Hands-on experience in operation and management of security infrastructure. Mandatory Troubleshooting experience of 6 years of experience on following products/technologies Checkpoint (MAESTRO, GAIA, VSX) Next generation Palo Alto Fortinet Virtual/Appliance IPS, Web Application Firewalls Implementation and operation support experience on F5 LTM, GTM, ASM, AFM Zscaler, Symantec Cloud proxy solutions Understanding of Identity and Access management solution like Forescout, Beyond trust, Okta, CyberArk, Cisco ISE Knowledge of SDWAN will be an added advantage Ability to provide Tier 3 support and manage complex and escalated tickets Knowledge of Cyber Security domains will be an added advantage Soft Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills. Strong collaborative partnering with internal teams and external stakeholders. Self-starter with minimal guidance required, a team player, and a good coach.
