3D Laser Scanning Site Engineer

Role Overview: As a 3D Laser Scanning Site Engineer at Inkers Technology, you will play a crucial role in operating terrestrial scanners, drones, 360 cameras, and other hardware for precise on-site data collection. Your responsibilities will include capturing high-quality raw data, ensuring on-site QA, and providing well-organized datasets to the processing team. This field-intensive role will require frequent site travel, physical fitness, and strict adherence to safety protocols. Key Responsibilities: - Perform handheld and tripod-mounted 3D laser scanning and walkthroughs with correct start/stop, device orientation, overlap, and steady movement. - Plan and execute aerial LiDAR/photogrammetry surveys using drones, including flight path planning, overlap checks, and compliance with permissions/safety rules. - Capture high-resolution images and videos for 360 video and photogrammetry, ensuring consistency and accuracy. - Establish control points, record targets, and ensure proper site referencing for GNSS/RTK work. - Record site-specific measurements and maintain proper documentation for manual site measurements. - Identify special site features and geo-tag them accurately for feature capture and tagging. - Perform immediate checks of collected data to confirm completeness, ensure backups, metadata management, and organized dataset handover for QA & Data Management. - Conduct pre-scan device checks, routine calibrations, battery management, and troubleshoot equipment as needed for troubleshooting & device care. - Liaise with site SPOCs, obtain required permissions, ensure minimal disruption, and escalate site access issues for client coordination & site logistics. - Follow strict safety protocols, wear PPE, and comply with drone/local aviation regulations for safety & compliance. Qualification Required: Essential Qualifications & Experience: - Diploma/Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Surveying, Geomatics, Construction Technology, or related fields. - Proven field experience on construction sites with hands-on experience in terrestrial scanners, preferably LITHIC/HESAI. - Practical knowledge of handheld walkthrough scanning workflows and familiarity with GNSS/RTK surveying workflows. - Comfortable working outdoors, lifting equipment, and traveling frequently for site work. Desirable Skills: - Drone piloting experience with aerial LiDAR/photogrammetry. - Knowledge of point-cloud processing tools and referencing in AutoCAD/Revit. - Strong data hygiene practices including field documentation, backups, file naming conventions. - Exposure to multi-modal data workflows and project handoffs.
