Job Description

Roles of a 3D Generalist:

Modeling and Texturing:

Creating 3D models of characters, props, and environments.
Texturing models using software like Substance Painter, Mari, or Photoshop.

Lighting and Rendering:

Setting up lighting for scenes using tools like Maya, 3ds Max, or Blender.
Rendering scenes using render engines such as V-Ray, Arnold, or RenderMan.

Animation:

Creating animations for characters and objects, including rigging and skinning.
Understanding of animation principles and techniques.

Compositing:

Integrating 3D elements into live-action footage or creating standalone visual effects shots.
Using compositing software like Nuke, Fusion, or After Effects.

Generalist Tasks:

Handling miscellaneous tasks such as camera setup, scene layout, and basic scripting.
Adapting to different production needs and contributing across multiple stages of the pipeline.
