The advice and counsel the legal team provides is critical to maintaining our commitments to our clients and regulators MINIMUM QUALIFICATION  LLB (Bachelor of Legislative Law) from a top-tier university  10 years of relevant industry experience  Worked for a real estate developer PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS  Keen understanding of the real estate laws and their interpretation  Thorough knowledge of the local town planning rules and building regulations KEY RESPONSIBILITIES  Liaises with external law firms to effectively coordinate the legal due diligence of land/property acquisition in particular title investigation  Reviews real estate specific deal documentation including sale deeds, joint development agreements, general power of attorney, etc.  Ensuring and addressing general corporate governance and compliance from a legal perspective.  Deliver high quality strategic and operational legal advice in all areas of law that will support business and growth objectives; and protect company’s rights, interests, and reputation.  Oversee the execution of all vendor and commercial contracts required for projects.  Monitors the Compliance of Documentation (title and sanctions) for registration of RERA  Coordinates with land owners, Business Development and Liaison Departments to obtain necessary property details, documents and information  Manages RERA registration of projects and submission of quarterly updates, RERA complaints, appear before Adjudicating officer, Tribunal etc  Keeps abreast of and inform management on relevant developments in real estate, such as court ruling or legislative amendments  Oversees legal queries raised with regard to projects PERSONALITY  Diligent  Organized  Leader SOFTWARE SKILLS  Microsoft Office (Intermediate) MAIA is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and does not discriminate anyone on grounds of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability or gender identity.
