Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Zonal Sales Manager (ZSM) to lead and expand our West Zone business for cleaning products. The candidate must have a strong background in FMCG sales, a thorough understanding of the regional markets, and proven experience in distributor management, channel development and sales team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute zonal sales strategies to achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets.
- Drive sales growth for cleaning products across Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan.
- Appoint, develop and manage distributors, stockiests and channel partners across the assigned territory.
- Identify new markets, business opportunities and potential distribution networks.
- Manage and guide the sales team, including Regional Sales Managers (RSMs), Area Sales Managers (ASMs) and other field sales personnel, as applicable.
- Monitor primary and secondary sales, sales targets, market coverage, product availability and distributor performance.
- Strengthen relationships with distributors, retailers, wholesalers and other channel partners.
- Ensure effective product placement, visibility, market penetration and promotional execution.
- Analyse competitor activities, pricing, market trends and customer feedback to recommend suitable sales strategies.
- Monitor distributor stock, sales outstanding, collections and channel profitability.
- Conduct regular market visits and review the performance of the sales team and distribution network.
- Prepare periodic sales reports, forecasts and management MIS.
- Coordinate with marketing, supply chain and finance teams to ensure smooth business operations.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Graduate in any discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the FMCG sector.
- Experience in cleaning products, home care, household hygiene or related FMCG categories is strongly preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of the Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan markets.
- Proven experience in distributor appointment, channel development and territory expansion.
- Experience in handling sales teams and achieving sales targets.
- Good understanding of primary sales, secondary sales, retail distribution and market development.
- Willingness to travel extensively across the assigned West Zone.
