Qualification: Diploma / B.Tech in Plastics Engineering / Polymer Technology / Mechanical / CIPET. ITI in any trade Processing or Extrusion with relevant experience may also be considered. Experience: 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in WPC, PVC, Pipe, WPE Extrusion operations (Immediate Joiners preferred). Proven exposure to extrusion problem-solving, process setting, and quality control Key Responsibilities: 1. Production & Operations Management Responsible for managing and supervising production activities during the shift. Ensure smooth operation of extrusion lines (WPC, PVC, Pipe, and WPE) as per standard parameters. Monitor production output, efficiency, and quality in alignment with daily production targets. Coordinate with the maintenance and quality departments to minimize downtime and rejection. Ensure proper shift handover and documentation of all running parameters 2. Process Control & Problem Solving Handle machine troubleshooting and process adjustments related to extrusion operations. Able to handle 6 lines. Analyse production problems such as surface defects, dimensional variations, or colour inconsistencies, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) . Maintain process stability and ensure adherence to SOPs and quality standards . 3. Quality Assurance Ensure that products are manufactured according to ISO / QMS / customer specifications . Conduct in-process inspections and ensure compliance with quality norms. Work closely with the QA team to reduce rejection and rework percentages. 4. Manpower Handling Supervise operators, helpers, and technicians during the shift. Plan and allocate manpower based on production priorities. Conduct on-the-job training for operators to improve skills and efficiency. 5. Maintenance & Equipment Care Coordinate with the maintenance team for preventive and breakdown maintenance. Ensure timely spare parts availability and raise indents as required. Monitor machine health, safety guards, and equipment cleanliness . 6. Documentation & Reporting Maintain daily production log books, shift reports, downtime analysis, and scrap records . Ensure online updating of production data in Excel, ERP, MIS / manual registers. Maintain records for spares usage, line changeovers, and material consumption . 7. MNC Systems & Process Compliance Implement and monitor 5S practices across the shop floor. Adhere to TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) standards for equipment efficiency. Participate in Kaizen and continuous improvement activities . Ensure inventory and stock management for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods. Maintain safety protocols, housekeeping, and discipline as per company policy. 8. Coordination & Communication Liaise with Planning, Quality, Maintenance, and Stores departments for smooth workflow. Ensure timely reporting to superiors on production status, issues, and requirements. Qualification: Diploma / ITI / CIPET in Plastics, Polymer (or )Mechanical Engineering Minimum 1 to 2 years of experience in extrusion-based manufacturing (WPC, WPE, PVC, Pipe) ( Immediate Joiners preferred). Shift: Rotational (Day / Night as per schedule) Key Responsibilities: 1. Product & Process Monitoring: Continuously monitor the extrusion line parameters and ensure products are within specified limits. Take and record product readings (length, diameter, thickness, weight, density, etc.) at defined intervals. Check product surface finish, colour shade, and dimensional accuracy . Verify process parameters against the approved process sheet and inform the shift incharge of deviations. 2. Log Book & Data Management: Maintain and update shift log books for product readings, machine settings, and production status. Record hourly production, scrap generation, and downtime accurately. Ensure timely online QC reading entry in ERP / manual log sheets. Maintain daily shift summary reports and hand them over at shift closure. 3. Quality Control & Testing: Perform in-process QC tests (density, impact, colour, gloss, dimensions, etc.) as per QC frequency chart. Ensure only QC-approved products move to the next stage or warehouse. Identify and segregate non-conforming or rejected products , tagging them properly. Support QA team during internal and external audits or trials . 4. Scrap & Rejection Control: Record and report scrap generation with reasons (e.g., bubble, burn, dimension issue, etc.). Ensure scrap is collected, weighed, and disposed of as per standard procedure. Assist in root cause analysis for high rejection or deviation cases. 5. Production & Inventory Coordination Monitor raw material and consumables availability at the line (additives, masterbatch, packaging, etc.). Coordinate with store / warehouse for material issuance and return. Maintain daily consumable stock records (gauges, packing rolls, tapes, etc.). Support in-house and warehouse closing activities for production and stock reconciliation. 6. TPM, 5S & Safety Implement and sustain TPM practices on the shop floor (Autonomous Maintenance, Cleaning, and Inspection). Maintain proper 5S (Sort, Set, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) in assigned work area. Ensure all measuring instruments and gauges are calibrated and handled properly. Follow all safety and PPE protocols during production monitoring. 7. Shift Closure & Handover Prepare shift-end reports including production achieved, rejection, downtime, and observations. Ensure line clearance, housekeeping, and documentation before shift handover. Communicate clearly with the next shift regarding any pending issues or process changes.
