About the job Zerocircle is replacing plastic with seaweed—and doing it at scale. As we grow, we're looking for a Packaging Engineer to help us bring compostable, barrier-performing packaging to life. You’ll work closely with chemistry and design teams to create product formats that are not only functional, but also scalable, sustainable, and market ready. What you’ll do Generate new packaging/product ideas based on Zerocircle material properties Research market benchmarks, existing formats, and competitor offerings Develop packaging materials from concept to pilot stage Co-create with design and chemistry teams to accelerate development cycles Support quality checks, improvements, and scale-up of products and processes Collaborate with partners during industrial trials, lab testing, and conversions Ensure all solutions align with home-compostability, food safety, and performance criteria What we’re looking for 3+ years' experience in packaging, polymer, or sustainable material development Degree in Polymer Engineering, Packaging Technology, or Material Science Strong understanding of coatings, substrates, and barrier performance testing (Cobb, Kit, sealability, etc.) Proactive, detail-driven, and comfortable working across R&D and production Bonus: Experience with compostable, bio-based, or plastic-free materials Why join Zerocircle?
