Job Description

Workday Platform Functional Leadership

  • Serve as the functional lead for Workday, overseeing configuration, business processes, and cross-functional design.
  • Develop and execute a Workday optimization roadmap focused on usability, process efficiency, and adoption.
  • Partner with CoE HR Systems Head, HR leadership and CoEs in the execution of Workday roadmap strategy.
  • Establish and manage Workday governance processes for enhancement prioritization and change control.

System Configuration & Enhancement

  • Oversee configuration, testing, and deployment of updates across Workday modules (e.g., HCM, Compensation, Talent, Absence, Time Tracking, Recruiting).
  • Identify system pain points, inefficiencies, and process gaps and lead optimization initiatives to resolve them.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of system configurations, workflows, and functional designs.
  • Ensure that configuration decisions adhere to internal controls, audit standards, and security requirements.

Continuous Improvement & Optimization

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives through regular health checks, release analysis, and stakeholder feedback.
  • Evaluate new Workday features released biannually, recommending adoption plans and change impacts.
  • Partner with process owners to simplify workflows, reduce manual effort, and increase automation through Workday capabilities.
  • Champion a Workday-first mindset across HR and business functions.
  • Perform regular Survey in the organization to get constant feedback on workday Adoption

Stakeholder Partnership & Business Support

  • Collaborate with HR, Payroll, Finance, and IT to understand business needs and translate them into scalable Workday solutions.
  • Serve as an escalation point for Workday-related issues, providing expert-level functional support and troubleshooting.
  • Lead requirements gathering sessions, business process reviews, and change impact assessments.
  • Partner with external vendors, Workday Success Plan Manager for ongoing enhancements.

Testing, Releases & Governance

  • Manage end-to-end testing (unit, regression, and user acceptance) for Workday releases and new features.
  • Lead release readiness activities, coordinating with functional owners and technical teams.
  • Monitor release updates from Workday Community and ensure proactive adoption of applicable functionality.
  • Maintain strong governance controls over data accuracy, user security, and business process integrity.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead and mentor the Workday Application Management team, providing functional and technical direction.
  • Manage team workload, prioritize projects, and ensure timely delivery of system solutions.
  • Foster collaboration with HR, IT, Finance, and external partners to deliver scalable Workday solutions.
  • Oversee vendor relationships and manage external consultants

Reporting & Analytics

  • Support the development of advanced Workday reports, dashboards, and analytics to meet business and compliance needs.
  • Ensure data quality and promote data-driven decision-making across HR and business teams.

Training & Change Management

  • Lead end-user enablement and change management efforts for new Workday features or processes.
  • Create and maintain functional documentation, user guides, and training materials.
  • Drive adoption through communication, stakeholder engagement, and continuous education.
