The Service Engineer is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of surgical laser systems and software-based medical devices. This role includes providing on-site and remote technical support to ensure that equipment operates at peak performance while meeting customer satisfaction and regulatory compliance.Key Responsibilities:Installation & CommissioningPerform the installation and commissioning of surgical laser systems and software-based medical devices at customer locations.Ensure devices are calibrated and functioning according to technical specifications and manufacturer guidelines.Conduct on-site training for end-users and staff on the proper usage of equipment and software.Preventive Maintenance (PM)Plan and execute routine preventive maintenance as per the service schedules.Document all maintenance activities and update service records accurately.Identify potential issues proactively and address them to avoid equipment downtime.Troubleshooting & RepairsDiagnose and resolve technical issues with surgical lasers and software systems efficiently.Perform repairs and part replacements as necessary, ensuring minimal disruption to the customers workflow.Escalate unresolved or complex issues to senior technical support or manufacturers when needed.Customer SupportProvide professional and timely support to customers, both on-site and remotely, addressing service-related inquiries.Build strong customer relationships by ensuring satisfaction and trust in service delivery.Follow up on service calls to ensure complaints are resolved and closure is achieved.Compliance & ReportingMaintain accurate records of all service activities, including service reports, checklists, and customer feedback.Ensure adherence to company and industry regulatory standards, including safety protocols during installation and servicing.Provide regular updates to the Service Manager regarding field activities and customer concerns.Key Skills and Qualifications:Education:Bachelors Degree or Diploma in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.Experience:1-3 years of experience in servicing medical devices, electronic systems, and software-driven systems.Technical Skills:Strong knowledge of electronic circuits, laser optics, and software troubleshooting.Proficiency in reading technical manuals and schematics.Familiarity with computer systems, software troubleshooting, and networking.Soft Skills:Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Customer-focused with the ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally.Good hand-eye coordination and precision.Willingness to learn and continuously improve processes.Other Requirements:Willingness to travel extensively for on-site service work.Work Environment & Conditions:Work Schedule: Full-time, shift-based (if required).Workplace: Field work – travel to customer locations for installation, maintenance, and repairs.
