The Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) Operator position based in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, requires you to oversee the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of ZLD systems used for treating and recovering industrial wastewater with zero liquid waste discharge. Your primary responsibilities will include ensuring efficient system performance, regulatory compliance, and environmental protection through processes like evaporation, crystallization, filtration, and reverse osmosis. Regular testing, record-keeping, and equipment maintenance in line with safety and quality standards are essential aspects of this role. You will be responsible for operating and monitoring all stages of the ZLD process, such as pretreatment, reverse osmosis (RO), evaporation, crystallization, and sludge handling. Additionally, you will be required to start up, shut down, and adjust process equipment to maintain optimal operating conditions. Conducting routine sampling and analysis of water and sludge, maintaining accurate logs, and performing basic troubleshooting and preventive maintenance tasks are crucial parts of your duties. Your qualifications for this position should include an Associate degree in chemistry or a related field, along with a minimum of 10 years of experience in water/wastewater treatment plant operations, preferably with ZLD systems. Knowledge of water treatment technologies like RO, MEE (multi-effect evaporator), crystallizers, and filtration systems is necessary, as well as a basic understanding of mechanical and chemical processes involved in industrial wastewater treatment. Proficiency in reading flow diagrams, gauges, and control panel indicators, along with familiarity with environmental and safety regulations, is essential for this role. Preferred qualifications include a technical diploma or certification in water treatment, environmental engineering, or a related field. Experience with SCADA or automated plant control systems, as well as valid certification in wastewater or ZLD plant operations (if required by local regulations), would be advantageous.
