VP- Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will play a crucial role in combining software and systems to enhance the engineering function of the company. Your primary focus will be on improving production applications and systems to creatively address operational challenges. Your responsibilities will include: - Optimizing existing systems and infrastructure - Automating tasks and developing tools using scripting languages like Python and Bash - Implementing Resiliency patterns such as Scalability, Self-healing, and Chaos Engineering - Monitoring performance continuously and making improvements - Managing containerization platforms like Docker and Kubernetes - Working with AWS cloud platform/services and Terraform for infrastructure - Knowledge of Job Scheduling tools like Autosys/CTRL-M or Airflow - Familiarity with data/event streaming technologies like Kafka is a plus - Experience with Big Data platforms like Hadoop/Spark and NoSQL databases like Cassandra, HBase & Elasticsearch is a plus As a qualified candidate, you should have: - 10 years of IT experience in systems engineering, software development, and production support in critical environments - Experience with modern agile software delivery practices such as scrum, version control, CI/CD, and DevOps - Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills - Understanding of OS and Web server experience (RHEL, Apache/Tomcat/Springboot) You will also participate in 24x7 support coverage as required, including being part of a call-out rotation for off-hours incidents.
