VMC Machinist

We are looking for an experienced VMC Machinist with hands-on expertise in operating and setting Vertical Machining Centers. The candidate will be responsible for precision machining of components as per drawings and ensuring quality output within defined tolerances.

Responsibilities:

• Operate and set up Vertical Machining Centers (VMC).
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and process sheets.
• Prepare machine setup, including tool selection, fixture setting, and workpiece alignment.
• Perform offset corrections, program adjustments, and minor troubleshooting.
• Carry out precision machining operations as per specifications.
• Monitor machining processes and ensure components meet dimensional accuracy and surface finish.
• Conduct basic preventive maintenance of machines and tools.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards and shop floor discipline.
• Collaborate with quality inspectors to resolve any dimensional or quality issues.

Requirements:

• Diploma / ITI / BE in Mechanical, Production, or relevant field.
• 2–5 years’ experience in VMC machine operation and setting.
• Knowledge of Fanuc / Siemens / Mitsubishi controls (as applicable).
• Ability to use measuring instruments (Vernier, Micrometer, Bore Gauge, Height Gauge, CMM knowledge preferred).
• Hands-on experience in tool offsets, program editing, and fixture setups.
• Understanding of cutting parameters for different materials (mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum, etc.).
• Basic knowledge of CNC programming is an added advantage.
