Role & responsibilities 1. BOM Creation & ManagementPreparation of BOM: Creating the Bill of Material for PCB assemblies, which includes specifying all components (resistors, capacitors, ICs, connectors, etc.) required for the assembly process.Component Identification: Identifying and cataloging all components based on the PCB design files (schematics, gerber files, etc.).Part Numbers: Assigning correct part numbers, quantities, and manufacturers to ensure compatibility and availability.Version Control: Maintaining BOM versions to reflect updates in design or component specifications.2. Collaboration with Design & Engineering TeamsDesign Review: Working closely with the PCB designers and electrical engineers to ensure that the components specified in the BOM match the design and functional requirements of the PCB.Component Substitution: Identifying suitable alternatives for components in case of component obsolescence or availability issues while ensuring the design integrity is maintained.Design Feedback: Providing feedback to the design team if there are any discrepancies or if certain components need to be replaced.3. Role & responsibilities This position involves assisting the Procurement Lead on detailed duties in the requisitioning and purchasing materials, supplies, and equipment. Work is performed under the general supervision of a Procurement Lead and requires preparation and review of requests for quotations, the receipt of bids or quotes, analysing bids, and preparing bid summaries for various clients. The Procurement Engineer will work directly with the Procurement Lead to oversee purchasing for the client, including obtaining bids, purchasing equipment, verifying delivery, and producing a job book with all purchasing details at the end of the project.
