Us Taxation Associate

Role & responsibilities

• Review and analyze individual (Form 1040) and business tax returns (Forms 1120, 1120S, 1065, 1041) for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in tax returns and supporting documentation.
• Conduct detailed reviews of complex tax issues, including international tax filings and tax reform calculations (e.g., GILTI).
• Provide guidance and recommendations to the tax preparation team to ensure compliance and process improvement.
• Stay informed on changes in tax laws and apply relevant updates to the review process.
• Mentor junior staff members, offering feedback to improve their tax knowledge and skills.
• Maintain accurate records of review findings, recommendations, and communications with clients.
• Assist with tax planning and consulting engagements, offering strategic advice to optimize tax positions.
• At least 7 years of experience in tax preparation and review for individuals and businesses.
• Extensive experience with forms 1120, 1120S, 1065, and 1041, including multistate tax returns.
• Proficiency in tax software (e.g., Drake, UltraTax, Intuit software, CCH, ProSystem fx) and other relevant tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.

Preferred candidate profile

• Experienced with review returns.
• software ; Pro-series, CCH, lacerte, turbotax, ultratax.
• For team leader role - experience with team handling of 8-10 people.
• Individual tax and business tax form return filings and review experience of minimum 300-450 returns filing a year minimum.
• Sharp communication.
