Senior Operations Lead |On-site, Hyderabad About UMEED UMEED aims to empower women socially and economically, and has been working with women from low-income communities in Hyderabad since 2014. With over a decade of grassroots engagement, UMEED has designed and implemented several sustainable livelihood interventions. Currently, we run four core programs — first Leap, Karigari, Shakti, and Sahyog — each targeting different stages of women’s empowerment journeys. Through our 3-bucket focus on skill-building, mindset development, and access to exposure, we foster the spirit of ‘Voice, Choice, and Agency’, enabling women to not only take charge of their own lives but also become change-makers in their communities. About the Role The Senior Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless execution of the organization's training programs at the city level. This position involves a dynamic mix of strategic planning, operational coordination, and on-ground implementation. The role requires close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including trainers, trainees, and college administration, to deliver high-impact training sessions aligned with the organization’s mission. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, highly organized, and solution-oriented, with a passion for operational excellence in the development sector. Key Responsibilities 1. Resource Management · Oversee the procurement, allocation, and optimal utilization of training materials, supplies, and equipment. · Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure resources are available and in good condition for all training activities. · Adhere to budgetary guidelines while managing logistical and material needs. 2. Scheduling and Coordination · Develop detailed training calendars in alignment with the academic schedule, curriculum goals, and trainer availability. · Coordinate session planning with trainers, subject matter experts, and college staff to ensure timely and effective delivery. · Regularly communicate schedules, updates, and changes to all relevant stakeholders, including trainees and partner institutions. 3. Facilitation Support · Act as the primary point of contact for trainers and facilitators, offering ongoing operational support before, during, and after sessions. · Monitor facilitator engagement and effectiveness, proactively addressing any challenges or gaps that arise. · Provide logistical assistance to ensure smooth delivery of each training module. 4. Quality Assurance · Implement and monitor quality standards and protocols to maintain high program delivery standards. · Collect and analyze feedback from participants, facilitators, and partners to assess program success and identify opportunities for improvement. · Use data-driven insights to suggest enhancements and ensure continuous improvement in training operations. 5. Administrative Oversight · Maintain comprehensive documentation of training activities, including attendance records, facilitator reports, and participant evaluations. · Contribute to regular reporting on program milestones, challenges, and impact for internal and external stakeholders. Support financial tracking, budget reconciliation, and the preparation of relevant administrative reports Qualifications · Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Education, Nonprofit Management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred). · Minimum 5 years of experience in program operations, training coordination, or nonprofit management. · Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and stakeholders. · Proficiency in MS Office, Google Workspace, and project management tools. · Experience working in a multicultural and diverse educational or NGO setting is a plus. Additional Requirements · Flexibility to work outside of regular business hours when necessary, especially during training programs and key events. · Willingness to travel occasionally for site visits, training sessions, and stakeholder meetings. About the Role As the Senior Outreach & Government Liaising Lead/Manager at Umeed (Hyderabad), you will play a strategic role in building and sustaining relationships with government stakeholders and ensuring regulatory compliance. You will champion advocacy efforts, secure necessary permits, enable smooth coordination, and represent the organization across multi-stakeholder platforms to advance program effectiveness and influence policy outcomes. Key Responsibilities · Government Engagement & Representation Cultivate and maintain strong connections with government authorities at national, state, and local levels. Coordinate meetings, official visits, workshops, and negotiations with ministries, local councils, and regulatory bodies. Monitor and analyze policy, regulatory, and legislative developments; advise senior leadership accordingly. · Outreach & Stakeholder Engagement Identify potential partners, including NGOs, UN agencies, and community leaders, and pursue collaboration. Represent the organization in clusters, consortia, forums, and coordination platforms. Develop briefing notes, position papers, talking point s, and policy updates for internal and external audiences. · Compliance, Permissions & Admin Coordination Oversee acquisition and renewal of government approvals (e.g., registration, licensing, permits), in collaboration with Finance and Program teams. Maintain robust tracking systems for permits, visas, and official documentation. Ensure adherence to NGO regulatory requirements, immigration, taxation, and administrative laws. · Capacity Building & Internal Support Train field and program teams on government engagement protocols and best practices. Facilitate internal workshops and updates on changing regulations and policies. Support report drafting, communications, and document translation as needed. · Reporting & Strategic Input Provide weekly/monthly summaries to the Country Director and leadership on government relations and upcoming regulatory changes. Contribute to strategic planning and operational risk assessments focused on government interaction.
