Description
CDM Smith is looking for a qualified Transportation Planner/Modeler Grade 4 to become a part of the Traffic and Transportation Planning team at the Bangalore, India Global Resource Center (GRC) office. As a member of the team, you will be responsible for preparing basic studies for transportation projects in the Middle East and USA under light supervision. Your role will involve gathering, compiling, and analyzing transportation-related data, performing traffic studies and traffic impact studies using principles of traffic engineering and transportation planning, as well as developing basic to complex traffic models and simulations. Your duties and responsibilities will include tasks related to transportation planning and engineering, such as data analysis, operational analysis, modeling, transportation studies, design collaboration, and other related activities. You will be required to compile and analyze data including demographic, land use, traffic counts, and travel speeds, conduct capacity analysis for intersections and roadways, write basic scripts for data analysis, prepare and analyze relevant land use data for modeling work, conduct traffic simulation tasks, develop engineering calculations and maps, collaborate with Highway Design and CAD teams, and more. To be eligible for this position, you must have a Master's Degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering from an accredited university, along with at least 8 years of related experience in traffic engineering and transportation modeling, including 3 international projects involving traffic studies or modeling. You should also have experience in using traffic software such as PTV VISSIM, SYNCHRO, HCS, SIDRA, demand modeling software like PTV VISUM and/or TRANSCAD, and proficiency in MicroStation and Microsoft Office software. Additionally, you should possess knowledge of traffic engineering and transportation planning principles, understanding of transportation issues at intersections and roadways, scripting and programming skills, and effective communication skills. Although this role may require travel to CDM Smith offices in the Middle East and collaboration with on-site teams, the amount of travel required is currently 0%.
