🎨 We’re Hiring – Character Designer 🎨 Location: Hyderabad, India Studio: Toony Studios About the Role Toony Studios is looking for an experienced Character Designer (3–5 years experience) to join our creative team. As a Character Designer, you will be responsible for visualizing, developing, and designing appealing characters that align with our storytelling style and brand identity. Your designs will set the foundation for our animation team, ensuring characters are expressive, memorable, and production-ready. Key Responsibilities Character Concept Design Create original character concepts based on scripts, storyboards, and creative briefs. Explore multiple design iterations, from rough sketches to polished final models. Ensure designs reflect unique personalities, emotions, and storytelling needs. Turnarounds & Expression Sheets Develop detailed turnaround sheets (front, side, ¾, back) for animators. Create expression charts showing a wide range of emotions. Provide pose sheets demonstrating key actions or body language. Style Consistency & Production Readiness Ensure characters match the studio’s art style and maintain consistency across projects. Work closely with the animation and story teams to refine characters for production. Provide clear line work, clean color palettes, and breakdowns for use in animation. Collaboration Partner with directors and writers to bring narrative-driven characters to life. Adapt designs based on feedback and creative direction. Work in harmony with background and prop designers to ensure overall visual coherence. Requirements Experience: 3–5 years as a Character Designer in animation, games, or related fields. Skills: Strong drawing and illustration skills with emphasis on anatomy, posing, and expression. Ability to create characters with distinct personalities and clear silhouettes. Proficiency in digital tools (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Toon Boom Harmony, or similar). Portfolio: A detailed portfolio showcasing: Character concepts and iterations Turnarounds and model sheets Expression/pose sheets Final polished designs ready for production Strong understanding of visual storytelling and design principles.
