Job Description Position: Training Manager Department: Learning & Development / Operations Location: Ocean Pearl Hotels Private Limited, Mangalore Reporting To: Country Head / Corporate L&D Job Purpose The Training Manager is responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring training and development programs across hotel operations, with a strong focus on Food & Beverage Service . The role requires hands-on involvement on the shop floor , ensuring service standards, SOPs, and guest experience are consistently delivered through practical, on-the-job training. Key Roles & Responsibilities Design, plan, and execute training programs for F&B Service staff , including stewards, captains, supervisors, and trainees. Conduct shop-floor training , live demonstrations, role plays, and service audits during actual operations. Ensure adherence to brand standards, SOPs, service sequences, and guest handling protocols across all outlets. Train staff on service etiquette, upselling techniques, menu knowledge, wine & beverage service , and guest engagement. Coordinate induction and orientation programs for new joiners across departments, with special focus on F&B. Identify training needs through performance gaps, guest feedback, audits, and departmental inputs. Maintain training calendars, attendance records, training reports, and skill matrices . Support statutory and mandatory trainings such as food safety, hygiene, POSH awareness, fire & safety , and operational compliance. Work closely with department heads to align training initiatives with operational goals and service excellence. Coach and mentor team members, helping build internal trainers and future leaders. Assist in evaluating training effectiveness through assessments, observations, and performance improvements. Desired Candidate Profile Graduate or Diploma in Hotel Management / Hospitality Management . Strong background in Food & Beverage Service (minimum 58 years operational experience preferred). Prior experience in training, coaching, or supervisory roles will be an added advantage. Comfortable working on the shop floor during live service hours. Kannada speaking ability is an added advantage . Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Passion for people development, service quality, and hospitality excellence. Proficient in basic MS Office and training documentation.
