Description
As a Test Engineer at Barclays, you will play a crucial role in the evolution of the digital landscape by driving innovation and excellence. Your primary responsibility will be to design, develop, and execute testing strategies to validate functionality, performance, and user experience. This will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve defects and continuously improve testing processes and methodologies to ensure software quality and reliability. Key Responsibilities: - Development and implementation of comprehensive test plans and strategies to validate software functionality and ensure compliance with established quality standards. - Creation and execution of automated test scripts, leveraging testing frameworks and tools for early detection of defects and quality issues. - Collaboration with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements, participate in design discussions, and contribute to the development of acceptance criteria. - Root cause analysis for identified defects, working closely with developers to provide detailed information and support defect resolution. - Collaboration with peers, participation in code reviews, and promotion of a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing. - Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations, and actively contribute to the organization's technology communities for fostering technical excellence and growth. - Leading and supervising a team, guiding and supporting professional development, allocating work requirements, and coordinating team resources. Alternatively, for an individual contributor, managing own workload, taking responsibility for the implementation of systems and processes within own work area, and participating in projects broader than the direct team. - Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work you own or contribute to. Continually develop awareness of the underlying principles and concepts on which the work within the area of responsibility is based, building upon administrative / operational expertise. - Making judgements based on practice and previous experience. - Assessing the validity and applicability of previous or similar experiences and evaluating options under circumstances that are not covered by procedures.
