About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Technical Lead Database Development with 8+ years of hands-on experience in SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL. The ideal candidate will be a technical leader with the ability to design scalable database solutions, optimize performance, and guide a team through complex migration and integration projects. This role requires a balance of strong technical expertise, leadership acumen, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams across global projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable and secure database architectures.
• Review and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and ETL processes to ensure peak performance.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the database engineering team.
• Architect, plan, and execute data migration initiatives (including transitions from SSIS/Informatica).
• Reverse-engineer and optimize existing SSIS packages and data pipelines.
• Implement and oversee data models (e.g., OMOP, PCORnet) ensuring compliance and efficiency.
• Manage database administration tasks including configuration, patching, backup/recovery, and performance tuning.
• Utilize cloud database services (Azure SQL, AWS RDS, etc.) for deployment and scaling.
• Collaborate with application, DevOps, and analytics teams to align database strategies with business objectives.
• Establish and enforce best practices in database coding standards, version control, and documentation.
• Automate recurring data and reporting workflows to improve efficiency.

Required Skills & Experience

• 8+ years of professional experience in database design, development, and administration.
• Deep expertise in SQL Server and PostgreSQL, with hands-on experience in MySQL.
• Strong command of SQL scripting, query optimization, and database tuning.
• Proven experience with SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services).
• Experience leading small to mid-sized technical teams or database projects.
• Exposure to NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB) and Databricks/Data Lakehouse environments is an advantage.
• Familiarity with healthcare data standards and data model frameworks is a plus.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working with international clients (USA/Europe) preferred.
