About the Role

We are looking for a highly experienced Technical Architect to drive the architecture, scalability, reliability, and technical evolution of ThrivePass's core platforms. This is a senior individual contributor role that combines strategic architectural leadership with hands-on engineering responsibility.

As the technical owner of critical business systems, you will define long-term architectural direction, lead complex technical initiatives, solve high-impact engineering challenges, and ensure the platform remains scalable, resilient, and maintainable as the business grows.

You will work closely with Engineering, Product, and Business stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions while mentoring engineers and elevating overall engineering excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & System Ownership

• Own the end-to-end technical health of core applications, including scalability, performance, reliability, security, and availability.

• Define, document, and continuously evolve system architecture aligned with business growth and engineering best practices.

• Lead architecture reviews, modernization initiatives, platform improvements, and technical decision-making.

• Identify technical debt, architectural bottlenecks, and system risks, and drive remediation strategies.

• Establish long-term architecture roadmaps that support product and business objectives.

Engineering Excellence & Delivery

• Design and build scalable, enterprise-grade applications and services.

• Lead the implementation of high-impact technical initiatives, platform enhancements, and system integrations.

• Take ownership of complex technical challenges and critical components across the technology stack.

• Drive engineering quality through architecture reviews, code reviews, coding standards, and best practices.

• Ensure solutions are maintainable, testable, and built for long-term sustainability.

Scalability, Reliability & Operations

• Architect systems that support fault tolerance, resiliency, graceful degradation, retry mechanisms, and idempotent operations.

• Improve system observability through robust logging, monitoring, metrics, and alerting frameworks.

• Lead root-cause analysis of production incidents and implement permanent corrective actions.

• Continuously optimize performance, operational efficiency, and platform reliability.

Technical Leadership & Mentorship

• Serve as the primary technical authority for system-level architecture and design decisions.

• Mentor and guide engineers through design discussions, code reviews, architectural reviews, and hands-on problem solving.

• Provide technical leadership during planning, estimation, and execution phases.

• Foster a culture of engineering excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Required Technical Skills

Backend & Cloud Technologies

• Strong expertise in C#, .NET Core/.NET 8+, ASP.NET Core, Web APIs, and Distributed Systems.

• Strong experience with Microsoft Azure, including cloud-native application design and deployment.

• Deep understanding of database design, performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, and data consistency concepts.

• Experience with service-oriented architecture, microservices, event-driven systems, and complex integrations.

• Strong knowledge of concurrency, asynchronous programming, caching strategies, and system performance optimization.

Frontend & Cross-Functional Expertise

• Solid understanding of Angular, TypeScript, and modern web application architecture.

• Ability to review frontend designs, troubleshoot cross-stack issues, and define scalable API contracts.

• Understanding of application performance, state management, security, and user experience considerations.

Engineering & DevOps Practices

• Expertise in CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, release management, and deployment strategies.

• Strong experience with application monitoring, logging, tracing, and production diagnostics.

• Deep understanding of software design patterns, clean architecture principles, and engineering best practices.

Experience Required

• 10-15 years of software engineering experience with significant exposure to large-scale production systems.

• Proven experience designing, architecting, and scaling enterprise applications.

• Track record of owning mission-critical systems and delivering high-quality technical solutions.

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to influence technical and business decisions.

• Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical initiatives across teams.
