Job Description – Quality Engineer (PPAP & Customer Quality Compliance) Position: Quality Engineer Department: QMS Reports To: Quality Manager / Plant Head Location: MIDC Bhosari. Role Overview We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to join our team. The role will primarily focus on Part Production Approval Process (PPAP) documentation , compliance with customer-specific requirements , and supporting the implementation and maintenance of IATF 16949 quality management system . The right candidate will play a key role in achieving customer satisfaction, ensuring process compliance, and driving continuous improvement in our quality systems. Key Responsibilities Lead PPAP preparation and submission as per AIAG guidelines / customer-specific requirements. Ensure compliance with APQP, Control Plans, FMEAs, MSA, and SPC for new product development and existing production. Act as the key link between Customer Quality Requirements and internal processes—review, interpret, and deploy effectively. Support IATF 16949 implementation – assist in audits, documentation, process alignment, and compliance monitoring. Handle customer complaints, 8D reports, root cause analysis, and corrective action effectiveness . Monitor and ensure adherence to quality KPIs (e.g., PPM, rejection rates, audit NC closures). Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Production, Design, SCM, Suppliers) for continuous improvement and problem-solving. Maintain and update quality documentation, procedures, and training records to meet compliance. Support in supplier quality evaluation and PPAP approvals . Ensure readiness and participate in customer and third-party audits . Required Skills & Competencies Strong knowledge of PPAP, APQP, Control Plans, FMEA, MSA, SPC . Good understanding of IATF 16949 standards and ISO 9001 . Hands-on experience in customer complaint handling, 8D methodology, and RCA tools (5 Why, Fishbone, etc.). Familiarity with GD&T, engineering drawings , and product validation processes. Proficiency in MS Office, QMS tools, and quality software . Strong documentation, reporting, and analytical skills. Excellent communication and ability to interface with customers and auditors . Problem-solving, attention to detail, and process-orientation. Education & Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering (or equivalent). 2–5 years of experience in Automotive / Engineering Manufacturing Quality Systems (preferred). Exposure to customer quality requirements from Tier-1 / OEMs is a plus. Prior experience in IATF 16949 implementation will be highly advantageous.
