Staff Software Engineer - Android (Java, Kotlin)

As an Android Platform Architect at Ivanti, you will play a crucial role in designing and constructing top-notch systems for our Mobile Device Management products. Your responsibilities will revolve around influencing and steering the technical roadmap of our systems, identifying opportunities for integration with other Ivanti products, and devising approaches/solutions for critical issues related to mobile platform technology. Collaboration will be key as you work closely with design teammates, product managers, and stakeholders to shape our product vision and run experiments in a fast-paced, analytical environment to facilitate quick learning and adaptation. Your role will also entail guiding and mentoring fellow engineers, providing technical leadership for projects, and breaking down complex problems for delivery by multiple team members. You will drive innovation by defining incremental approaches and spearheading the adoption of new technologies within our architecture, with a specific focus on being the technical authority for Android platform architecture and long-term technical direction. Additionally, you will take ownership of critical components within our Android product line, making key architectural decisions and leading cross-functional technical initiatives to ensure seamless delivery. Furthermore, you will lead the charge in reviewing and influencing mobile security, performance, and compliance across the stack, setting coding standards and performance guidelines for Android teams globally, and evaluating emerging Android technologies and frameworks for potential adoption. Your collaboration with product and design teams to build Android apps for Ivanti, define APIs for optimal user experience, write efficient and secure Java/Kotlin code, and create flawless UI designs will be instrumental in driving our Android platform forward. To qualify for this role, we are seeking candidates with over 10 years of object-oriented software engineering experience, expert-level Java/Kotlin proficiency, and a deep understanding of Android frameworks, design guidelines, and best practices. Your track record should showcase the development of outstanding Android apps published on the Google Play Store, along with experience in writing secure interprocess communication between Android applications and native Android (Mobile) development. Ideally, you should have familiarity with Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync protocol, security concepts like Cryptography and PKI, and hold a B.Tech. or M.Tech in Computer Science or possess relevant development experience.
