Role & responsibilities Design and develop mechanical parts, enclosures, and assemblies for switchgear products in accordance with IEC/IS standards. Generate detailed 2D drawings, and BOMs using design tools (AutoCAD). Conduct tolerance stack-up analyses, material selection, and DFMEA for product reliability and manufacturability. Collaborate with electrical and production engineers to ensure smooth integration of mechanical and electrical systems. Support prototype development, testing, and validation of new designs. Review and modify designs to address cost reduction, performance improvement, or standardization needs. Coordinate with vendors for component development and ensure manufacturability of designs. Maintain design documentation and version control per company's engineering standards. Preferred candidate profile Education: B.E. / B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering. Experience: 0 2 years in mechanical design for switchgear, control panels, or similar electrical equipment. Hands-on experience in 3D modeling and drafting software AutoCAD. Familiarity with switchgear assembly, LV/MV systems, and electrical insulation clearances preferred. Role & responsibilities Study customer specifications and single line diagrams and convert them into panel designs. Prepare GA drawings and wiring diagrams using AutoCAD or similar tools. Select suitable electrical components like ACB, MCCB, contactors, relays, meters and busbars. Do basic electrical calculations for load, shortcircuit and busbar sizing where required. Ensure designs follow relevant IEC/IS standards and company guidelines. Release BOM and drawings for production and support during panel assembly and testing. Coordinate with sales/project teams and attend technical discussions with customers when needed. Preferred candidate profile Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering. 0 - 2 years of experience in electrical panel/switchgear design Experience in LV/MV switchgear, distribution boards or MCC design preferred.
