Job Description (JD)Position Title: Regional Sales Manager (RSM) – South India Department: Sales Function: FMCG – General Trade Reporting To: National Sales Head / Sales Director Grade / Level: Senior Management Location: South India (Karnataka / Tamil Nadu / Telangana) Territory Coverage: Karnataka, Tamil Nadu & Telangana Position Summary The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) – South India will be responsible for driving business growth, establishing and managing distribution networks, and leading sales teams across Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana. The role requires a seasoned FMCG professional with strong start-up experience, capable of independently setting up operations, managing distributors, and achieving aggressive monthly sales targets. Key Result Areas (KRAs) Achievement of monthly primary sales target of ₹70 Lakhs Successful establishment and expansion of distribution network across three states Recruitment, training, and performance management of sales teams Market penetration, secondary sales growth, and brand visibility Distributor productivity, compliance, and relationship management Roles & ResponsibilitiesSales & Business Development Plan, execute, and monitor regional sales strategies to achieve assigned targets Drive primary and secondary sales growth across Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana Identify new business opportunities and expand market reach Ensure effective pricing, schemes, and promotions in coordination with management Distributor Management Manage and strengthen relationships with existing distributors Appoint new distributors where required to ensure optimal market coverage Monitor distributor performance, credit control, and inventory management Ensure adherence to company policies and commercial norms Team Management & Capability Building Recruit, train, and lead state-wise sales teams (ASM, SO, Sales Executives) Set clear objectives and performance benchmarks for team members Conduct regular market visits, reviews, and performance appraisals Build a high-performance, result-oriented sales culture Market Execution Ensure effective market execution, merchandising, and visibility initiatives Monitor competitor activities and recommend corrective strategies Drive effective rollout of new products and initiatives Reporting & Coordination Provide accurate and timely sales forecasts, MIS, and market insights Coordinate with supply chain, finance, and marketing teams Ensure timely collections and control of outstanding receivables Candidate Profile & Eligibility CriteriaEducation Graduate in any discipline (MBA / PGDM in Sales & Marketing preferred) Experience Minimum 10+ years of experience in FMCG sales Career progression from Sales Officer level Mandatory experience in FMCG start-ups or new brand launches Proven experience in handling high monthly targets (₹70 Lakhs or above) Skills & Competencies Strong distributor and channel management expertise Excellent leadership and people management skills High level of market execution capability Strategic thinking with strong operational focus Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills Self-starter with the ability to work independently Behavioral Competencies Result-oriented and accountable Entrepreneurial and growth-focused mindset High integrity and ownership Strong problem-solving ability Adaptable to fast-paced and evolving environments Other Requirements Willingness to travel extensively across assigned states Immediate joiner or short notice period preferred Job Type: Full-time Pay: ₹55,000.00 - ₹75,000.00 per month Benefits: Cell phone reimbursement Health insurance Paid sick time Provident Fund Work Location: In person
