Role Overview: As a Machine Shop Electrician, you will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining electrical systems and machinery in a machine shop environment. Your role involves ensuring that electrical equipment functions efficiently and safely to minimize downtime and maximize production output. Key Responsibilities: - Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and machinery, including CNC machines, lathes, milling machines, and other industrial equipment. - Diagnose electrical issues, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions. - Perform regular preventative maintenance on electrical systems to ensure optimal performance. - Troubleshoot electrical circuits, controls, motors, and related components. - Read and interpret blueprints, electrical diagrams, and technical manuals. - Conduct testing of electrical systems and components for proper functionality. - Collaborate with mechanical teams to resolve issues related to both electrical and mechanical systems. - Ensure adherence to electrical safety standards and industry regulations. - Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs performed. - Order necessary parts and materials for repairs or installations. - Develop and implement effective electrical maintenance schedules. - Provide training on electrical safety and equipment operation to machine shop personnel. Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent (technical certification in electrical systems preferred). - Proven experience as an electrician in a machine shop or manufacturing environment. - Strong knowledge of electrical systems, controls, and equipment used in machine shops. - Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals. - Experience with troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery and electrical systems. - Familiarity with electrical testing equipment and diagnostic tools. - Basic knowledge of mechanical systems and their integration with electrical systems. - Understanding of electrical safety standards and OSHA guidelines. - Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
