Job Description

As a Senior Lead Engineer - CFD at Marmon Global Innovation Center, you will be responsible for utilizing your strong CFD modeling skills to solve complex engineering problems related to heat exchanger products. You will play a key role in developing predictive models, accelerating design cycles, and enabling intelligent, connected products through hybrid simulation methodologies. Your expertise will bridge the gap between physics-based simulation and data-driven approaches such as Digital Twins, AI, and Machine Learning. Additionally, you will be expected to mentor junior engineers and support the development of CFD methods related to new technologies. **Key Responsibilities:** - Identify product design and development problems where CFD analysis can assist and accelerate the development of products in the device portfolio. - Develop and validate CFD methodologies, including RANS, URANS, and LES for resolving complex, unsteady flow phenomena. - Proactively validate and correlate results with real-world data, making necessary model improvements. - Optimize designs through parametric and sensitivity studies. - Interpret analysis results and convert them into practical design suggestions based on lab testing procedures. - Generate high-quality engineering test reports and present results/conclusions to the design engineering community. - Support the development of CFD methods related to new technologies. - Mentor junior engineers to help them improve their capabilities. **Personal Characteristics & Attributes:** - Strong communication, documentation, and presentation skills. - Strong technical writing skills. - Experience working in a global engineering team environment. - Strong analytical skills. - Curious nature, team player, and self-starter. - Strong desire to learn new technologies and methodologies. - Flexible in adapting to quickly changing business and project priorities. - Willingness to travel locally, nationally, or internationally when required. - Open to adapting other CAE skills like FEA as needed. **Required Qualifications:** - Ensure correctness and completeness of CFD analysis by defining simulation problems appropriately. - Experience in meshing strategies, turbulence modeling, and conjugate heat transfer. - Familiarity with optimization frameworks such as Optislang and Tosca. - Understanding of cloud or HPC environments for large-scale LES simulations. - Proficiency in CFD tools like Ansys Fluent, Star-CCM+, and OpenFOAM. - Strong knowledge of CFD meshing in Ansys Fluent Meshing or Hypermesh. - Knowledge of CAD tools such as Spaceclaim/Solidworks. - Experience or knowledge of experimental characterization techniques. - Proficient in analysis report preparation and manual writing. **Nice to have Requirements:** - Experience in heat exchangers. - Knowledge of postprocessing tools like Paraview and Ensight. - Understanding of Aeroacoustics is an advantage. - Exposure to different international standards related to CFD modeling and testing.
