Smarsh's product portfolio includes Connected Capture, Connected Archive, Web Archive & Business Solutions. **About the Role:** As a FinOps Engineer at Smarsh, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing cloud expenditures. Reporting to the Head of FinOps, you will collaborate with the VP of Technology Strategy to ensure cost efficiency, financial transparency, and reporting related to our cloud services. The ideal candidate should possess a robust technical background, hands-on experience with AWS cloud platforms, and a comprehensive understanding of FinOps principles. **Responsibilities:** - Collaborate with engineering, product, and finance teams - Partner with external public cloud providers to manage hosting costs effectively - Develop cost visibility reports and dashboards using native and third-party cloud tools - Implement and monitor cost anomalies in complex architecture within a large-scale deployment - Assist financial teams in production-related budgeting and forecasting - Build financial models to calculate the total cost of ownership (TCO) for new products/projects - Engage with development, support, DevOps, and InfoSec teams to promote financial responsibility - Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices in cloud cost optimization and FinOps methodologies **Qualifications:** - 5+ years of experience as a Cloud FinOps Engineer - Proficient cloud engineer with expertise in public Cloud Operating Model, Observability, Cloud infrastructure, Networking Architecture, Containers, and Microservices - Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across global cross-functional teams - Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field - Preferred certification: AWS Solutions Architect Associate - Desirable certification: FinOps Certified Engineer or Practitioner **Why Smarsh:** Smarsh seeks individuals who are lifelong learners, passionate about innovating with purpose, humility, and humor.
