As a Qualcomm Software Engineer, you will be involved in designing, developing, creating, modifying, and validating embedded and cloud edge software, applications, and specialized utility programs to deliver cutting-edge, world-class products that exceed customer expectations. Collaboration with systems, hardware, architecture, test engineers, and other teams is a crucial part of your role to design system-level software solutions and gather information on performance requirements and interfaces. To qualify for this position, you need to have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field with at least 2 years of Software Engineering or related work experience. Alternatively, a Master's degree in a relevant field with 1 year of experience or a PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field is also acceptable. Additionally, you should have 2+ years of academic or work experience with programming languages like C, C++, Java, Python, etc. Preferred qualifications for this role include a Master's Degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience, 2+ years of experience with Database Management Software, 2+ years of experience with API, and 1+ year of work experience with Git, Perforce, or a Source Code Management System. As a Software Engineer at Qualcomm, your responsibilities will include applying software knowledge and experience to develop, design, modify, and validate embedded and cloud edge software and applications. You will analyze user needs and software requirements to customize software for optimal operational efficiency, design and implement software modules for products and systems, and participate in coding, unit testing, debugging, and integration efforts to ensure projects are completed as per specifications and schedules. Collaboration with project teams, code reviews, regression tests, and writing technical documentation for software projects are also part of your duties. In this role, you will work under supervision, and your decision-making may have an impact beyond your immediate work group. Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential to convey information, and basic negotiation, influence, and tact may be required. You will be responsible for tasks that do not have defined steps, necessitating planning, problem-solving, and prioritization to complete them effectively.
