SQL/MongoDB/Postgres/RDS

As a Database Migration Lead, you will be responsible for leading end-to-end database migrations across on-premises, virtualized, and cloud environments. This includes handling SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB workloads efficiently. Your role will involve designing and implementing migration strategies using a combination of native and third-party tools such as pg_dump, pg_restore, mongodump, mongorestore, BACPAC, and replication utilities. These strategies should be optimized for performance, availability, and minimal downtime. You will conduct detailed assessments of the source and target environments, considering factors like data volume, schema complexity, compatibility, and transformation requirements. For instance, you may need to migrate data from SQL Server to Postgres. In addition, you will define and validate Low-Level Designs (LLDs) that cover aspects like network topology, storage, replication, access controls, and disaster recovery configurations. This ensures a comprehensive approach to database migration. Your responsibilities will also include orchestrating wave-based migration plans, implementing data validation processes, setting up rollback mechanisms, and defining cutover strategies that align with business Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
