Your role includes monitoring and maintaining SQL Server databases (2012 and above), performing routine database backups, restores, and recovery procedures. You will troubleshoot and resolve database performance issues using tools like SQL Profiler, Extended Events, and DMVs. Additionally, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining database security (roles, permissions, encryption), assisting in database deployments, patching, and upgrades, as well as designing and implementing high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions (AlwaysOn, Log Shipping, Replication, Clustering). To be successful in this role, you should have 4 - 12 years of experience as a SQL Database Administrator with a strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server (2012-2019/2022). Proficiency in T-SQL, indexing strategies, and query optimization is required. Understanding of database backup strategies and recovery models, as well as familiarity with monitoring tools like Redgate, SolarWinds, SentryOne, is essential.
