Job Description

As a Speech Language Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting speech-language pathologists in the assessment and treatment of speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders. Your responsibilities will include implementing treatment plans, documenting clients" progress, preparing materials, maintaining supplies, and conducting client screenings. You will also be involved in in-service training sessions, family, and community education programs, as well as speech-language research projects. Key Responsibilities: - Implement treatment plans or protocols as directed by speech-language pathologists - Document clients" progress towards meeting established treatment objectives - Assist in the remediation or development of speech and language skills - Perform support duties such as preparing materials, keeping records, maintaining supplies, and scheduling activities - Collect and compile data to document clients" performance and assess program quality - Select and/or prepare speech-language instructional materials - Conduct client screenings and assessments of language, voice, fluency, articulation, and hearing - Test and maintain equipment to ensure performance - Conduct in-service training sessions and family and community education programs - Prepare charts, graphs, and other visual displays to communicate clients" performance information - Assist in the conduct of speech-language research projects Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's Degree in qualifying major - Fulfill the requirements of the USBE SLT licensing program - Excellent listening and communication skills - Strong ability to recognize nuances in speech - Basic understanding of the concepts of Speech Pathology Company's Additional Details: You will be expected to interact positively with students, parents, staff, teachers, administration, and other district personnel. Providing encouragement and enthusiasm in daily interactions with colleagues, students, and families is essential. Adhering to the school communication policy and exhibiting good character traits including honesty, assuming goodwill, positivity, diligence, and humility are important aspects of this role. Working Environment: Your work setting will primarily be in an office or small classroom setting. You may be assigned to multiple campuses, which may require travel. Travel between campuses is reimbursed at the federal mileage rate. Physical Requirements: - Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer - Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times - Hearing ability sufficient to evaluate students" speech and language Time & Effort Certification (TEC) is also part of this role.,
