Procurement Manager Yarns Location: Kolkata Experience Required: 3-4 years in yarn procurement/sourcing Employment Type: Full-time Role Overview We are seeking a Procurement Manager – Yarns to lead sourcing strategies(developing & executing) for cotton, polyester, viscose, and blended yarns from India & Overseas. The role involves vendor management, cost optimization, and market intelligence to ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality procurement to support our textile and apparel operations. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute yarn sourcing strategies (cotton, polyester, viscose, blends). Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers globally and locally. Optimize procurement costs while maintaining quality and compliance. Build strong relationships with mills, suppliers, and agents. Monitor supplier performance and conduct periodic audits. Track global yarn market trends, price movements, and risks. Collaborate with production and planning teams to ensure timely availability. Manage inventory levels and procurement lead times. Ensure compliance with trade regulations and maintain procurement records. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering, Supply Chain, or Business Administration . 3-4 years of yarn procurement/sourcing experience in textiles, spinning, or apparel industry. Strong knowledge of global yarn markets, suppliers, and price trends. Proven negotiation, cost control, and vendor management skills. Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office . Strong communication skills (English & local language). Preferred Attributes Experience with sustainable sourcing (organic cotton, recycled polyester, eco-viscose). Network of yarn suppliers across Asia, India, Turkey, Vietnam, China, Pakistan, Thailand, Indonesia & Uzbekistan. Ability to manage complex, multi-country sourcing operations. The role involves developing new export markets, managing key accounts, and achieving sales targets while ensuring smooth order execution and customer satisfaction. Job description: Sales Manager Yarns The Sales Manager Yarns will be responsible for driving sales, developing new business opportunities, managing key customer accounts, and ensuring revenue growth in domestic and/or international yarn markets. The role requires strong industry knowledge, customer relationship management skills, and the ability to achieve sales targets while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve business targets for yarns (cotton, polyester, viscose, blended, etc.). Identify new market opportunities and expand customer base in domestic and export markets. Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, distributors, and agents. Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to align product offerings. Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with clients to maximize profitability. Coordinate with production, supply chain, and quality teams to ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction. Provide accurate sales forecasts, reports, and market insights to management. Represent the company at trade fairs, exhibitions, and industry networking events. Ensure compliance with company policies, credit controls, and ethical sales practices. Requirements Bachelors degree in Textile Technology, Business Administration, Marketing , or related field. 3-4 years of proven sales experience in the textile/yarn industry (spinning, weaving, knitting sector preferred).
