Job Purpose: The Specialized Solutions group at Acuity Knowledge Partners provides services in the areas of market research, qualitative analysis, financial analytics, market risk and derivative pricing to banks and financial services organizations. A significant part of these efforts involves tracking, analyzing, and preparing detailed market outlooks on macroeconomics, commodities, FX and interest rates. As an EM sovereign credit specialist, this position mainly focuses on research, strategy and analytics for all EM sovereign credit-related products. Key Responsibilities: Strong understanding of macro-economic trends, market risk factors and geopolitical developments with a genuine interest in developing a career in macro research. Writing research notes/commentary on macroeconomic trends Create outlooks and presentations on economic topics Build Sovereign credit rating profiles for the selected countries from the EM universe Create strategies around the EM sovereign credit products Help create quantitative models to better understand the relation among the economic variables Build statistical models on fair valuation/relative valuation Qualification A Masters or PhD degree in Economics, Finance or STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). Experience 3-5 years Prior experience of Macro research, financial modeling, structuring, trading or market risk management Functional Competencies Advanced Excel, VBA analytical skills and knowledge of basic econometrics is a must. Working knowledge of Python or R is a plus Strong quantitative and mathematical skills with experience on working with large amount of data Knowledge of database tools Bloomberg, Haver, World Bank, IMF etc Excellent written and verbal communication skills ability to write research reports and comment on market developments Behavioural Competencies Excellent team player Good verbal and written communication skills High accuracy and attention to detail Strong conceptual thinking and ability to challenge the traditional thought process Research mindset, strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work efficiently in an unstructured environment Self-motivated, ability to multi-task and work under high-pressure situations Build strong relationships and networks across different business lines Problem-solving and the ability to work as part of a team
