Solution Architect - Presales

Job Summary

We are looking for L2 Presales Engineers with strong expertise in Modernization, Data & AI, and Migration to strengthen our presales capabilities in these strategic technology areas.

The selected candidates will be responsible for handling core L2-level presales activities, including customer discovery, solution design, architecture, technical presentations, solution discussions, and customer-facing technical engagements.

The role requires a strong combination of technical depth, solutioning capability, and customer-facing presales experience. Migration expertise is mandatory, along with strong knowledge of Modernization and Data & AI.

The resources will work closely with the presales and sales teams and will also contribute to cross-skilling and knowledge sharing across the broader presales organization.

We are seeking a highly motivated Data & Modernization Presales Engineer with hands-on experience in application modernization, database modernization, cloud migration, and AWS modernization services. The candidate will support sales teams in designing modernization solutions, conducting technical assessments, preparing proposals, developing business cases, and assisting customers in their transformation journey from legacy applications and databases to modern cloud-native platforms.

The ideal candidate should possess strong knowledge of modernization tools such as AWS Transform (ATX), Kiro, Amazon Q Developer, database migration technologies, application re-platforming, and cloud-native architecture patterns

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct technical discovery sessions with customers to understand business and technology requirements.

• Translate customer requirements into appropriate technical solutions and architectures.

• Design and present solutions focused on application modernization, cloud transformation, migration, data, and AI.

• Develop high-level solution architectures, technical proposals, presentations, and solution documents.

• Participate in customer meetings, workshops, technical discussions, and solution demonstrations.

• Collaborate with sales, delivery, engineering, and architecture teams to develop end-to-end solutions.

• Provide technical inputs for RFPs, RFIs, proposals, and other presales engagements.

• Assess existing customer environments and identify modernization and migration opportunities.

• Support estimation, solution sizing, effort assessment, and technical assumptions.

• Explain complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and business stakeholders.

• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends across Modernization, Cloud, Data, and AI.

• Build reusable solution assets, reference architectures, presentations, and technical collateral.

• Contribute to knowledge sharing and cross-skilling initiatives within the presales team.

• Support multiple customer opportunities while managing priorities and timelines effectively.

· · Conduct application and database modernization discovery workshops with customers.

· · Assess legacy applications and recommend Rehost, Replatform, Refactor, or Modernization strategies.

· · Analyze existing database platforms and define migration approaches to Aurora PostgreSQL, PostgreSQL, Aurora MySQL, or AWS-native services.

· · Execute application and database assessment tools and prepare modernization reports.

· · Utilize AWS Transform, Amazon Q Developer, Kiro, AWS SCT, and other modernization tools to identify migration opportunities.

· · Design target-state cloud architectures aligned with AWS Well-Architected principles.

· · Prepare High-Level Designs (HLDs), solution architectures, migration plans, and modernization roadmaps.

· · Create effort estimations, bill of materials (BoM), TCOs, and technical proposals.

· · Present solution recommendations, modernization strategies, and business benefits to customer stakeholders.

· · Support pre-sales activities including RFP/RFI responses, technical discussions, and solution demonstrations.

· · Identify application dependencies, integration challenges, and modernization risks.

· · Work closely with AWS teams, OEM partners, sales teams, and delivery teams for solution validation.

· · Define migration waves, cutover approaches, testing strategies, and rollback plans.

· · Stay current with emerging AWS modernization services, GenAI-assisted development tools, and cloud-native architectures.

· · Support PoCs, pilot engagements, and customer workshops focused on application and database modernization initiatives.

• Assess existing data platforms including Data Warehouses, Data Lakes, ETL pipelines, BI platforms, and recommend modernization strategies on AWS-native services.

• Design high-level architectures for Data Lakes, Data Platforms, Analytics Solutions, GenAI applications, RAG-based solutions, and AI-powered modernization initiatives

• Identify opportunities to leverage AI-assisted tools for application modernization, code transformation, database migration, documentation generation, and productivity improvements

• Support presales activities related to Data Engineering, Analytics, Machine Learning, Generative AI, and Agentic AI solutions, including preparation of solution proposals, roadmaps, effort estimates, and business cases.

• Work with customers to define AI use cases, data readiness requirements, governance considerations, and modernization priorities aligned to business outcomes.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5–8 years of relevant experience in Presales, Solution Architecture, Technical Consulting, or Solution Engineering.

• Strong experience in customer-facing presales engagements.

• Strong understanding of Application Modernization and transformation concepts.

• Strong expertise in Data & AI technologies and solutioning.

• Mandatory experience in Migration, preferably cloud/application/data migration.

• Experience in conducting discovery workshops and requirement-gathering sessions.

• Strong understanding of solution architecture and technical design.

• Experience preparing technical proposals, presentations, RFP/RFI responses, and solution documents.

• Ability to translate business requirements into scalable and practical technical solutions.

• Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills.

• Ability to work effectively with sales, delivery, engineering, and architecture teams.

Good to Have

• Experience with major cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.

• Knowledge of cloud-native architecture and modernization patterns.

• Exposure to data platforms, data engineering, analytics, GenAI, or machine learning solutions.

• Relevant cloud, data, AI, or architecture certifications
