Role & responsibilities
Solution Architect - Cognite Industrial Data Platform (Must have 3+ years of Cognite experience)
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with business and manufacturing stakeholders to understand operational challenges and translate them into technical requirements.
Design and architect scalable, secure, and high-performing industrial data solutions using Cognite and relevant technologies, including cloud platforms, data management tools, BI tools, and analytics technologies.
Define architectures that integrate industrial, manufacturing, IoT, operational, and enterprise data sources into the Cognite platform.
Evaluate and recommend best-fit technologies based on project needs, integration requirements, security considerations, and organizational goals.
Develop detailed solution documentation, including architecture diagrams, data-flow models, integration designs, and technical specifications.
Lead solution presentations and demonstrations for stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment.
Partner with development, integration, MES, IoT, OT, cloud, and platform teams to ensure solutions are implemented in line with the approved architecture.
Stay current with developments in Cognite, industrial data platforms, cloud technologies, data management, BI, and analytics.
Identify and mitigate potential risks related to solution architecture, industrial data integration, security, governance, performance, and scalability.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of architecture, integration, data governance, and platform engineering best practices.
Qualifications:
Mandatory:
5+ years of experience as a Solution Architect or in a similar architecture role involving data platforms, industrial applications, integration, or analytics solutions.
3+ years of proven hands-on experience with Cognite, including solution design and platform integration.
Strong understanding of data warehousing, data governance, data security, data integration, and data architecture principles.
Ability to design solutions involving industrial and manufacturing data, IoT/OT data sources, and enterprise systems.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
Desired:
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Experience with data, engineering, BI, and analytics tools such as Snowflake, Databricks, and Tableau.
Experience with industrial data integration, IoT platforms, MES, historians, or OT systems.
Project management experience.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
