Job Description

Role Overview: You will be joining Stripe, a company that offers an exciting middle ground between a small startup and a multinational corporation. As part of the team, you will have the opportunity to work on cross-functional projects, collaborate with other engineers, and ensure the smooth operation and scalability of systems to meet user needs. Your role will involve end-to-end ownership of projects, contributing to the community through open-source software, and developing project management and technical leadership skills. Key Responsibilities: - Work on cross-functional projects and collaborate directly with other engineers. - Provide meaningful feedback on code reviews and technical designs. - Ensure the continued smooth operation and scalability of the systems your team manages. - Develop the skills to own a project from start to finish, learning project management and technical leadership skills. Qualifications Required: Minimum Requirements: - Hold a Bachelors, Masters, or PhD degree in computer science or a related field by summer 2026, or have equivalent work experience. - Have some experience and familiarity with programming, either through side projects or classwork. Proficiency in languages like Java, Ruby, JavaScript, Scala, and Go is beneficial. - Demonstrate experience from previous internships or collaborative coding projects. - Ability to learn unfamiliar systems through independent research and mentorship. Preferred Qualifications: - Possess specialized knowledge in specific areas along with general skills, such as familiarity with frontend technologies and understanding of how services handle HTTP requests. - Experience in code review practices and updating production systems safely. - Familiarity with navigating and managing work in large code bases.
