Software Engineer (WordPress Developer)

As a WordPress Developer at our company in Trivandrum, your primary responsibility will be to design, develop, and maintain responsive, high-performance WordPress websites and custom themes/plugins. You will play a crucial role in ensuring alignment with SEO, UI/UX, and performance best practices to support our digital marketing and branding goals. Here is a detailed overview of your role: **Key Responsibilities:** - Design, develop, and maintain custom WordPress themes and plugins from scratch. - Ensure websites are mobile-responsive, cross-browser compatible, and optimized for speed and performance. - Convert Figma, PSD, or XD designs into WordPress or HTML pages. - Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including SEO, content, design, cybersecurity, DevOps, and the broader marketing team. - Transform UI/UX wireframes into functional websites in collaboration with designers. - Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to WordPress core, themes, plugins, and third-party integrations. - Conduct website audits to improve security, scalability, and adherence to SEO best practices. - Optimize websites for performance using caching, CDNs, and image optimization techniques. - Develop both the front-end and back-end of the website. - Plan and create website architecture. - Design and implement new features and functionality. - Manage back-end tasks like database and server integration. - Test and troubleshoot the website, analyzing live website performance. - Stay updated with industry trends, WordPress updates, and emerging technologies. - Experience with eCommerce systems such as WooCommerce or similar platforms. **Qualifications Required:** - 3+ years of professional WordPress development experience. - Expertise in PHP, MySQL, and WordPress architecture. - Strong proficiency in front-end technologies: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/JQuery. - Good understanding of technical SEO fundamentals and site architecture. - Experience with responsive frameworks and CSS preprocessors. - Familiarity with page builders like Elementor, WPBakery, Divi, etc. - Knowledge of Core Web Vitals, CDN integration, and caching strategies is a bonus. - Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects. - Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
