As a Software Engineer- Operational Support Systems at Barclays, you will be at the forefront of driving innovation and excellence in the evolution of the digital landscape. You will play a crucial role in designing, building, and maintaining the underlying OSS infrastructure and toolchains required to run the Barclays Global Network. Your responsibilities will include: - Demonstrating expertise in front-end and back-end skillsets, with proficiency in Java (Java 17+), Spring Ecosystem (Spring MVC, Data JPA, Security), strong SQL and NoSQL integration skills, and JavaScript expertise. - Utilizing cutting-edge technology for revolutionizing digital offerings, ensuring unparalleled customer experiences. - Having strong knowledge of runtime technologies such as virtualization, containers, Kubernetes, and expertise in test-driven development using frameworks like cypress, playwright, selenium. - Understanding CI/CD pipelines and tooling like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Gitlab CI, and monitoring and observability with tools like Grafana/ELK. - Building ELT pipelines, cloud/storage integrations, security practices, and performance optimization. - Expertise in Public, Private, and Hybrid Cloud technologies and Network domains. You may also be assessed on key critical skills such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, and digital and technology. This role is based in the Pune office. In this role, you will design, develop, and improve software utilizing various engineering methodologies to provide business, platform, and technology capabilities. Your key accountabilities include: - Developing and delivering high-quality software solutions using industry-aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. - Collaborating cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and engineers to define software requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives. - Promoting a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing through code reviews and collaboration. - Staying informed of industry trends to contribute to the organization's technology communities and foster technical excellence. - Adhering to secure coding practices, implementing effective unit testing practices, and ensuring proper code design and reliability.
