Software Engineer

The primary responsibility of this role is to troubleshoot, debug, analyze logs, profile code, and propose bug fixes or architectural changes, both within Okta and in customer side integration or customization. You will collaborate closely with development teams to suggest fixes or design modifications and build tools and automation as necessary. Understanding customer use cases and working closely with support and escalation teams to bridge the gap between engineering and support will be essential. Taking full ownership and ensuring follow-up on escalations are key aspects of this role. Additionally, providing status summaries on escalated cases to engineering, collaborating cross-functionally to solve technical challenges, mentoring junior team members, and identifying opportunities to introduce new troubleshooting or performance analysis tools for production operations staff are important responsibilities. Insisting on high standards and prioritizing customer satisfaction are crucial, as well as participating in after-hours on-call rotation for critical customer escalations. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 8 years of industry experience in a large-scale, multi-tenant production environment. Previous experience in a Customer Centric Engineering or sustaining team role is required, along with familiarity with Internet development technologies such as Java, MySQL, Tomcat, SAML, OAuth, OIDC, REST, and Public Cloud. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to take action and adapt quickly, are necessary. Being a dependable, motivated self-starter who can work independently is important. Experience in the Identity/IAM space is considered a plus. The minimum educational requirement for this position is a Bachelor's Degree in computer science or an equivalent field.,
