Software Engineer II

Building on Azure's success as a horizontal platform, we, as part of the Azure Core organization, are leading the transformation in the Energy sector, currently focused on the Oil and Gas industry. We partner with customers, independent software vendors (ISVs), and solution providers to deliver business-critical platforms and services for this multi-billion-dollar industry. The Energy team is innovating across the Azure platform and services-including data ingestion, search, managed offerings of the open-source Open Subsurface Data Universe (OSDU) via Azure Data Manager for Energy, high-performance computing (HPC), and artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML)-to bring differentiated value to this market segment.
We seek candidates who are curious, to help us create products that customers love in a nascent and hyped market. Experience handling ambiguity and experimentation would be highly valued. Candidates must have demonstrated collaboration skills to work constructively across functions, groups, and time zones to solve customer problems. The product portfolio will consist of multiple layers in the cloud stack, both built from scratch as open source and built as proprietary extensions to Microsoft's existing platforms.
