You will build different parts of our payment network, that have high scale, precision and availability requirements. You will be part of a world class team delivering awesome features to Blackhawk consumers and partners. You will stretch the limits of backend technologies to deliver functionality. Your work will play an essential part in how developers build state of the art payment experiences that consumers love Responsibilities Write clean, reusable code thateasier to read and test Actively participate in all phases of software engineering including design, development, testing and production release in an Agile environment. Build products that perform, scale, are highly available and fault tolerant with automated failover capabilities. Contribute novel ideas and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver and improve Blackhawk systems. Collaborate with product architects, product owners, and other stakeholders to create great product requirements Participate in resolving customer problems effectively through new features as well as improving existing features. Qualifications Required: Bachelors degree and at least 2 years of related experience, or an advanced degree without experience, or equivalent work experience. Solid programming experience building distributed systems using java technologies and solid understanding of relational databases. Core Java backend skills Strong computational skills, fluent in data structures, algorithms and design patterns Strong knowledge of computing concepts such as service-oriented architecture, REST services, fault tolerance, self-healing, network protocols, network programming, multi-threaded programming , performance, reliability, scalability , and security. Ability to differentiate good and bad, design and coding practices Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong in self-direction, problem solving and critical thinking. Deep passion for providing high quality customer experiences. Familiarity with the whole web stack , including protocols Preferred: Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) including RDS and EC2 Experience with container-based application development using Docker/Kubernetes Experience with DevOps skills Web server optimization techniques
