Software Engineer Backend (Python)

As a Backend Software Engineer at our company located in Chennai, India, you will be part of a dynamic engineering team focused on our Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Handy Terminal devicekey products in the logistics and automation technology suite. Your role involves contributing to backend architecture, developing clean APIs, and supporting mission-critical logistics operations. For the position of L3 Software Engineer (4 to 7 years of experience), your responsibilities will include developing and maintaining backend services using Python (version 3.10+), building APIs with frameworks like FastAPI or Django, writing automated tests using pytest, working with PostgreSQL for database design and optimization, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. As an L4 Senior Software Engineer (8 to 12 years of experience), you will be responsible for architecting scalable backend solutions, leading module-level development, mentoring junior engineers, implementing advanced backend features such as async programming and Redis, driving CI/CD initiatives using tools like GitHub Actions and Docker, and collaborating with global teams. To qualify for these roles, you need proficiency in Python (3.10 or above), experience with FastAPI or Django, strong SQL knowledge (especially in PostgreSQL), hands-on experience with pytest, Docker, and CI/CD (GitHub Actions), as well as strong problem-solving, debugging skills, and good communication abilities. Preferred qualifications include experience with Redis or other NoSQL systems, familiarity with asynchronous programming and message queues, knowledge of warehouse management or logistics systems, and contributions to open-source or developer communities.
