Role Overview: PowerScale, a Gartner Magic Quadrant leader in Unstructured Data Storage and Management, is undergoing a transformation to cater to the unique demands of the consumer market in the GenAI era. As a Software Principal Engineer on the PowerScale Engineering Team in Bangalore/Pune, you will play a key role in modernizing the stack through the development of advanced technologies in data storage systems, cluster management, distributed systems, and container management. Your work will contribute to providing a composable, disaggregated, software-defined architecture capable of storing exabytes of data and delivering exceptional performance. Key Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and deliver solutions to distributed computing problems for scale-out OneFS filesystem and data services - Develop features for OneFS to enhance scale, performance, and GenAI readiness of PowerScale - Collaborate within and outside your scrum team throughout the software development cycle to utilize common components and build optimized solutions with the highest quality Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's in Computer Science or related technical field with 2+ years of relevant work experience in Distributed Software Systems, Operating Systems, File Systems, or Embedded Software - Proficiency in developing system software using C programming - Experience in Advanced Data Structures, Memory Management, Locking, Design Patterns, Multithreading, and Parallel Programming - Strong understanding of Algorithms, Concurrency Models, Design Patterns, and Asynchronous Concepts - Knowledge of UNIX/Linux/POSIX-based systems software development, storage networking protocols, and architectures Additional Company Details: Dell Technologies believes in the power of each team member to make an impact and places them at the core of its operations.
