As a Data Engineer at Rambus, you will be a crucial part of the Information Architecture & BI Engineering team in Bangalore. Your role involves designing and implementing enterprise data models optimized for both BI and AI workloads. You will report directly to the Technical Director, IT, and contribute significantly to the team's goal of enabling data and AI-driven decision-making. **Responsibilities:** - **Data Modeling & Architecture** - Design and maintain scalable data models for BI and AI workloads. - Implement semantic layers and data Lakehouse structures for cross-domain analytics. - Maintain data dictionaries and documentation for easy data access. - **Pipeline Development** - Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines for various types of data. - Ensure pipelines support analytics and machine learning feature extraction. - **Data Quality & Governance** - Apply data validation, lineage tracking, and cataloging standards. - Maintain metadata and catalogs for AI-ready datasets. - Ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations. - **Performance Optimization** - Tune queries and storage for BI dashboards and AI inference. - Monitor and optimize cost and performance across different workloads. - **Integration & Enablement** - Integrate BI tools like Power BI with AI platforms. - Support AI model deployment by providing curated datasets and features. - **Collaboration** - Work closely with BI team members and business users to deliver quality solutions. - Document processes and provide enablement for self-service analytics. **Qualifications:** - **Experience:** - 4-7 years in data engineering or analytics with hands-on experience in dimensional models and ETL/ELT pipelines. - Strong experience with Power BI and self-serve BI, preparing and curating datasets optimized for natural language queries. - Experience with modern data architecture tools like Microsoft Fabric, Lakehouse, Dataflows Gen2, and OneLake integration. - **Technical Skills:** - Strong SQL and dimensional modeling expertise for BI & AI performance. - Hands-on experience with preparing model-ready datasets for ML and GenAI. - Familiarity with Delta/Parquet, Lakehouse architecture, feature stores, and vector databases. - **Soft Skills:** - Strong problem-solving and communication skills. - Ability to collaborate effectively across teams to achieve shared goals.
