Role & responsibilities 1. Material Receipt & Verification Receive materials as per PO and delivery challan. Check quantity, quality, and specifications with site engineer/QC. Prepare GRN (Goods Receipt Note) and enter in ERP/software. Reject and report damaged or non-conforming materials. 2. Material Storage & Handling Organize and store materials category-wise (cement, steel, MEP, finishing, etc.). Ensure safe, weatherproof, and FIFO-based storage. Monitor expiry-sensitive materials like paints, waterproofing chemicals. Maintain cleanliness, safety, and stacking discipline. 3. Material Issue & Distribution Issue materials only against authorized indents/MRS. Record every issue accurately in registers or ERP. Monitor daily consumption vs. work progress. Prevent over-issuance or pilferage. 4. Inventory Management Maintain daily inward/outward/balance registers. Conduct periodic physical stock audits and reconcile discrepancies. Maintain reorder levels and communicate shortages timely. Highlight non-moving or excess materials to management. 5. Documentation & ERP/Excel Updates Maintain all store-related documents (PO, GRN, MRS, DC, invoice copies). Update ERP system / Excel tracker regularly. Support internal and external audits with accurate data. 6. Coordination & Communication Coordinate with Purchase, Project, and Accounts departments. Liaise with vendors, transporters, and suppliers for timely deliveries. Submit daily, weekly, and monthly stock and consumption reports. Preferred candidate profile Educational Background Diploma / ITI / Graduate in Civil Engineering, Material Management, Supply Chain, or Commerce . Additional certification in Inventory / ERP / Store Management preferred. Experience 3 to 8 years of experience in construction site store management , preferably in high-rise residential or commercial projects . Proven experience in handling bulk materials such as cement, steel, aggregates, plumbing, electrical, finishing, and MEP items. Hands-on exposure to site-level ERP or inventory software (e.g., Tally ERP, SAP, BuildSmart, SmartCheck, In4Suite, or similar). Experience in vendor coordination, documentation, and stock reconciliation . Must have managed at least one large residential or mixed-use project independently. Technical Competencies Strong knowledge of material specifications, storage norms, and safe handling practices . Sound understanding of GRN, MRS, DC, stock register, and audit procedures . Skilled in Excel / spreadsheet reporting , physical stock verification, and consumption analysis. Familiar with construction workflows and coordination with site engineers and purchase teams. Capable of maintaining system accuracy 98% between physical and software stock.
