Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for an Assistant Manager – Gasket Engineering located in Sonipat. The role involves supervising and managing engineering projects, leading technical teams, overseeing the integration of new engineering processes, and ensuring timely project delivery. The Assistant Manager will collaborate across departments to optimize engineering operations and maintain product quality and performance standards. Role Overview You will work on end-to-end gasket development from material selection and drawings to process setup and validation — in close coordination with management and production teams. Our expertise serves industries worldwide with an innovative approach to sealing technology. Role Overview We already have a junior engineer learning seal design. We are now looking for a senior, hands-on oil seal expert who can own seal development end-to-end , reduce trial-and-error, and build a repeatable, predictable seal development system . This role is for someone who becomes the technical authority for oil seal performance , while mentoring junior engineers and working closely with tooling and production teams. Candidate Profile (Must Have) • 10–15 years of hands-on experience in oil seal design & development • Deep expertise in lip geometry, rubber tooling, and seal performance • Strong trial analysis and corrective decision-making skills • Comfortable working inside a manufacturing plant • Experience with aftermarket and/or export programs preferred Key Responsibilities 1️⃣ Oil Seal Design & Lip Geometry (Core Responsibility) • Design oil seal cross-sections for aftermarket applications • Define primary & secondary lip geometry, contact band width, lip angles, micro-radii, and spring groove geometry • Convert OEM references into robust, aftermarket-ready seal designs 2️⃣ Rubber Tooling & Insert Design • Design insert-based rubber moulds for oil seals • Define steel-safe allowances • Guide CNC turning and grinding of lip inserts • Approve tooling before trials 3️⃣ Trials, Corrections & Validation • Own rubber trials end-to-end • Analyse leakage, lip burn, excess torque, and wear patterns • Decide steel corrections based on engineering judgement, not guesswork • Reduce trial counts, rework, and development lead time 4️⃣ Aftermarket Performance Engineering • Design seals tolerant to shaft roughness variation, runout, and misalignment • Balance sealing performance with wear life under real-world conditions 5️⃣ Team Development (Critical) • Mentor and guide junior seal engineers • Convert hit-and-trial learning into structured methods • Define internal seal design standards • Build a repeatable, scalable seal development process 6️⃣ Cross-Functional Coordination • Work closely with metal shell tooling, toolroom (CNC & grinding), moulding, press operators, and quality teams • Ensure seal development never becomes a production bottleneck Why Join Us This is a high-ownership technical leadership role where you define how seals are designed, validated, and released—not just execute instructions.
