R 1. Preventive Maintenance Routine Inspections : Conduct regular inspections of electrical systems (e.g., power distribution networks, control panels, motors) to identify potential issues before they escalate. Scheduled Servicing : Perform maintenance tasks on electrical equipment, such as cleaning, calibration, and testing, according to manufacturer recommendations or industry standards. Monitoring : Use diagnostic tools and sensors to continuously monitor the performance of electrical systems, identifying areas for improvement or repair. 2. Corrective Maintenance Troubleshooting : Diagnose electrical faults and malfunctions in equipment and systems, such as circuit failures, wiring issues, or power outages. Repairs : Carry out repairs or replacements of faulty electrical components like transformers, circuit breakers, switches, motors, and wiring to restore functionality. Testing After Repair : Perform post-repair testing to ensure systems are fully operational and safe. 3. System Upgrades and Modifications Upgrading Equipment : Replace outdated or worn-out electrical components with newer, more efficient ones to enhance performance and efficiency. Retrofits : Modify existing electrical systems to comply with new safety regulations, improve energy efficiency, or integrate new technology (e.g., automation systems, renewable energy solutions). Software Updates : Update control systems and other software-based electrical systems to ensure compatibility and enhanced functionality. 4. Safety and Compliance Ensuring Safety : Implement and enforce electrical safety standards, protocols, and procedures to prevent accidents and hazards, including electrical shocks, fires, and equipment damage. Testing for Safety : Conduct tests like insulation resistance tests, earth continuity tests, and high-voltage tests to ensure equipment operates within safe parameters. Compliance with Standards : Ensure that all maintenance activities are in line with local, national, and international electrical codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEC). 5. Documentation and Reporting Maintenance Records : Keep detailed logs of all maintenance activities, including inspection results, repairs, replacements, and system performance. Service Reports : Prepare detailed service reports outlining the nature of faults, the corrective actions taken, and recommendations for future preventive measures. Inventory Management : Maintain an inventory of electrical parts, tools, and equipment to ensure necessary materials are available for maintenance tasks. 6. Collaboration with Other Departments Coordination with Production : Work closely with the production or operations teams to schedule maintenance activities without disrupting normal operations. Training : Train technicians and other personnel on proper use, basic troubleshooting, and safety procedures for handling electrical equipment. Consultation : Provide expert advice to management or other departments regarding upgrades, system improvements, and compliance with electrical standards. 7. Emergency Response Fault Response : Act as the first point of contact during electrical emergencies, such as power failures or equipment breakdowns, and quickly restore service. Root Cause Analysis : Investigate the root cause of electrical failures and develop strategies to prevent future occurrences. 8. Energy Efficiency and Sustainability Energy Audits : Conduct energy audits of electrical systems to identify opportunities for reducing energy consumption and improving efficiency. Implementing Energy-Efficient Solutions : Implement energy-saving measures, such as installing energy-efficient motors, lighting, and control systems, or utilizing renewable energy sources. 9. Equipment Calibration Precision Testing : Calibrate electrical instruments and control systems to ensure accurate readings and performance. Maintaining System Accuracy : Regularly verify that all electrical systems, including sensors, meters, and controllers, are properly calibrated for reliable operation. Tools and Equipment Used in Maintenance: Multimeters : For measuring voltage, current, and resistance. Oscilloscopes : To monitor waveforms and diagnose faults in electrical circuits. Thermal Imaging Cameras : To detect overheating components. Megohmmeters (Insulation Testers) : To test insulation resistance and ensure equipment integrity. Power Analyzers : To monitor and analyze the power quality of electrical systems. ole & responsibilities Preferred candidate profile Perks and benefits
